Future development trend of water based ink

Environmental protection is the inevitable trend of Water Based Ink development.

With the improvement of people's awareness of environmental protection, the urgent need for "environmental protection" printing materials is growing. Especially non-aqueous Printing Ink for food packaging, tobacco and alcohol packaging and children's toy packaging. The environmental protection department has been demanding the final zero emission of VOC. In order to achieve more stringent environmental management objectives, the printing industry is currently focusing on strengthening the treatment of emissions during solvent ink printing. The usual practice is to use an "incinerator" to absorb and incinerate VOC, while others are more creative in applying a microbial or bacterial treatment system that takes VOC as food.

High-quality water based ink has a certain market demand

With the continuous enhancement of the display function of corrugated boxes, the printing of corrugated boxes is gradually developing in the direction of high-grade, high-quality, multi-color and strong visual effect. Taking color dot printing as the direction, that is, commodity packaging replaces transportation packaging, and whiteboard cattle card replaces box board cattle card, so as to achieve the characteristics of bright color, good gloss and beauty. In order to meet the above standards, higher requirements are put forward for plate making and ink. The plate making of middle and high-grade carton printing must take flexography as the development direction, and at the same time, high-quality water based ink must be used to achieve high gloss, bright color and quick drying, which is suitable for high-speed production. High-quality water based ink means that ink has the characteristics of high gloss, high temperature resistance and friction resistance. Improving the gloss of ink can improve the quality of printed matter. The water-based ink made of water-based acrylic resin can increase the gloss by 20% ~ 30%, while keeping the drying speed, transparency, color density, heat resistance, rubbing resistance, scratch resistance, water resistance, grease resistance and acid resistance unchanged. However, at present, the price of petroleum is rising rapidly, which leads to the price increase of waterborne acrylic resin and the cost increase of waterborne ink. For the pre-printing of corrugated boxes, when the pre-printed paper is flattened on the corrugated production line and passes through the drying section, it is required that the water based ink used has good high temperature resistance and wear resistance, otherwise the colored paper will become waste due to drawing and ink dropping. This requires that at the high temperature of 200℃, the ink will not change color, wrinkle or bubble, maintain the inherent printing effect and ensure the quality of printed products. In the process of loading, unloading and handling corrugated boxes, in order to ensure that the printed matter can still maintain the invariability of printing color after being collided and rubbed with each other, it is required that the water based ink has good abrasion resistance.
